- Contest begins on January 1, 2010 and ends on June 30, 2010. A random draw for the Grand Prize will take place on August 15, 2010. This contest is being sponsored by Merial Canada Inc. (the “Sponsor”).
- Submission forms will be available online at www.heartgard.ca. Complete all requested information on the submission form, including name, postal address, phone number and email address, and correctly answer, without mechanical or other assistance, the mathematical, skill-testing question. When completed, mail the completed submission form to:

- One prize, consisting of a $500 credit for future veterinary services at the Canadian veterinary clinic of the winner’s choice will be awarded, based on a random selection from all eligible entrants who submitted fully completed submission forms that were received no later than July 31, 2010.
- Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. To be an actual winner, that person must have correctly answered Sponsor’s skill-testing question appearing on the submission form without mechanical or other assistance.
- The potential winner will be notified of their having won by registered mail at the mailing
address stated on their submission form; to be an actual winner, the selected entrant must sign and return the Sponsor’s release within 15 days of it having been sent. - By entering the contest, the entrant agrees to: (a) the contest rules, and (b) by accepting their prize, to the use without compensation of their photograph, name and city of residence in all publicity campaigns related to the contest including in all advertising and on the Sponsor’s Website.
- Contest is open to residents of Canada, who are at least 21 years of age at the time of entry, and are not an employee of the Sponsor, participating retailers, veterinary practices, or agents or representatives of the Sponsor, or domiciled with such an employee. The prize must be accepted as awarded, in the name of the winner (who must be the person who submitted the form), are not transferable, and no substitution will be made for the prize. The decision of the contest judges is final in respect of any matter relating to this contest.
- The Sponsor, including its and their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, members, representatives and agents, are not responsible for any submission which is lost, misdirected or which arrives late, as the case may be, whether or not due to the fault of the Sponsor or of any other person. Persons abusing the entry rules will have their entries rejected, or submissions entered fraudulently or through an abuse of the entry rules will be rejected. The Sponsor, in its sole discretion, and for any reason, reserves the right to substitute a prize for a prize of equal or greater monetary value.
- Personal information about entrants collected in connection with this contest is collected solely for the purpose of administering this contest. No further informational or marketing communications not related to this contest will be sent to the entrant by the Sponsor unless the entrant has in some manner provided Sponsor or its affiliates, as the case may be, with permission to do so.
- Participants agree that the Sponsor, and their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, members, representatives and agents will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be indemnified and held harmless by participants against any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to person(s), pet(s) (including death), or to property, resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize, or participation in this Contest or Contest-related activities.
- For residents of Quebec, any dispute concerning the conduct or administration of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any dispute concerning the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
